TiviMate

How to add your login to TiviMate on a TV box or Fire TV Stick. We also explain what premium is and why the publisher, not us, sells it.

TiviMate

TiviMate is an independent player built for Android TV and Google TV boxes and the Fire TV Stick. Install it from your device's official app store.

Add your Northline IPTV login with the Xtream Codes option: server URL, username and password from your welcome e-mail.

Its grid guide feels like a classic cable box, which is why many homes pick it for the living room.

This page explains how to set up TiviMate with your Northline IPTV subscription, how to keep its guide accurate, and what the app’s premium option really means for you. TiviMate looks and behaves like the programme grid of a traditional cable box, so it tends to become the living room player in homes where people still like to flick through live channels after dinner.

Two rules before we start. First, we are independent from the publisher of TiviMate: we do not build the app, sell it, or receive anything from it. Second, premium is a matter between you and that publisher. Your subscription with us gives you the content. The app gives you the screen layout. Keep those two apart and every question on this page has a clear owner.

What TiviMate is, and which devices it runs on

TiviMate is a player designed for television screens and remote controls. Everything in it, from the menus to the guide, is laid out to be read from the sofa and steered with arrow keys. Like every player, it is empty the first time you open it. It shows nothing until you add the login details from your welcome e-mail.

It runs on Android TV and Google TV boxes and on the Fire TV Stick. It is not made for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or Samsung and LG smart TVs without Android TV. The table below sums up where you can use it.

What this means for you: if your main screen is a smart TV without Android TV, you have two routes. Plug in a TV box or a Fire TV Stick and use TiviMate on it, or pick a player made for your television. Our Android TV box guide and Firestick guide cover the first route, and our IBO Player guide covers the second.

Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV in short

These three names describe the software inside many TV boxes and sticks. Android TV and Google TV are found on a wide range of boxes and dongles, and on some televisions too. Fire TV is the software of the Fire TV Stick. All three come with an official app store, and that store is where you find TiviMate. If your television itself runs Android TV or Google TV, look in its store: you may not need a separate box at all.

Why households choose TiviMate for the living room

People rarely pick TiviMate for its looks alone. They pick it because it fits a certain way of watching: turn on the TV, see what is on now, change channel with the remote, check what is coming next. If that describes your evenings, these are the qualities you will notice first.

A full grid guide

Channels down the side, time across the top, like the guide on a classic cable box.

Built for the remote

Menus are designed for arrow keys and an OK button, not for a touch screen.

Favourites close at hand

A shortlist of channels keeps a large catalogue manageable for the whole family.

Groups you can hide

Hide the categories nobody watches and the guide scrolls faster.

That said, TiviMate is not the best choice for everyone. If your household mostly opens series and movies on demand, a player with large separate menus for those sections may feel more natural. If you watch on a phone or tablet as much as on the TV, a player that exists on all of those screens keeps things consistent. There is no single best player, only the one that suits your screen and your habits.

TiviMate or another player for your box

On an Android TV box or a Fire TV Stick you have a real choice: TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro and XCIPTV all work there with our login. Here is how TiviMate compares when you are deciding.

Pick TiviMate if

  • Live channels are the heart of your evenings.
  • You want the guide to look like a cable box grid.
  • The box or stick is the only screen you really use.
  • You are happy to judge premium later, on its own merits.

Pick another player if

  • You also need the same app on an iPhone or iPad.
  • You mostly watch movies and series on demand.
  • Your stick is short on storage and already busy.
  • You never open a programme guide at all.

You are not locked in. Your login works in all six supported players, so you can try TiviMate for a week and move to IPTV Smarters Pro if it does not suit you, or the other way round. The comparison of every player sits on our IPTV app page.

Before you set up TiviMate

Check these points first. Each one prevents a common failed first attempt, and together they take only a few minutes. A box that is up to date and well connected makes the first load much faster.

Android TV box connected to a television with an Ethernet cable and a remote nearby
A box on a cable is the steadiest home for TiviMate.

Your pre-setup checklist

Do these in order. If one fails, fix it before you install the app.

  • Your welcome e-mail is at hand, with a server URL, username and password, or an M3U link.
  • The box or stick has its latest system update.
  • It is connected to the internet, by cable if it has a port.
  • The device time zone matches where you live in Canada.
  • No other screen is playing with the same login right now.

On a Fire TV Stick, check the available storage as well before installing. A stick that is almost full struggles to store the channel list and the guide of a large pack. Remove apps you no longer use from the device’s own settings, then install TiviMate. A stick with room to breathe loads the guide faster and stays responsive in the evening.

Check your speed for the quality you want: about 10 Mbps for HD, 15 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps for 4K, per screen. Run the test on the box itself if you can, in the evening, when your home network is busiest.

Still choosing a pack? The VIP Premium Pack suits a guide-first layout well: 27,000+ channels, 61,000+ series and 155,000+ movies, in HD, Full HD and 4K. Every pack and duration is listed on the plans page, with current prices.

How to set up TiviMate with your login

The setup takes a handful of screens. Use your remote and type carefully: one wrong character is enough to block the login. Screen names can change slightly between versions, but the order is stable.

  1. Install TiviMate. Open your device’s official app store, search for TiviMate and install it. Check the publisher name before you confirm.
  2. Add a playlist. Open the app and choose to add a playlist. The app offers several types of login.
  3. Pick Xtream Codes. Select the Xtream Codes option rather than the M3U address. It loads faster and separates live TV, movies and series.
  4. Enter the server URL. Type it exactly as written in the e-mail, including the beginning of the address and any number after a colon.
  5. Enter your username and password. Respect capital letters. Leave no space at the end.
  6. Confirm and name the playlist. The app checks the details and shows what it found. Give the playlist a short name, such as “Northline”, and finish.
  7. Wait for the guide. TiviMate now loads the channels and the guide. The first load takes a little while with a large catalogue. Let it finish before you browse.

What we can check for you. If the app refuses your login, send us a photo of the error screen and your device model. We check your account status and your connection details on our side. We cannot see inside the app or change its settings remotely, but we can tell you whether the problem is on our side or in what was typed.

Entering the server URL without mistakes

The server URL is the longest of the three details and the one most often mistyped on a remote. It contains letters, dots, slashes and often a colon followed by a number. Every character counts.

A method that works with a remote

Make the e-mail big. Open it on your phone and zoom in so the URL fills the width of the screen.

Type in small groups. Four or five characters at a time, then check them on the TV before moving on.

Find the symbols page. Dots, slashes and colons usually sit on a second page of the on-screen keyboard. Look for them rather than guessing.

Read it back. Before pressing Next, read the whole URL against the e-mail once more.

The part after the colon is the piece people most often forget. Without it, the app may say it cannot reach the server even though everything else is right. If your box has a USB port and you own a keyboard, plugging it in turns this step into a short one.

What this means for you: a refused login on the first try is normal and rarely a sign of a real problem. Retype slowly, check the end of the URL, and try again once. If it still fails, stop and send us a photo instead of trying ten times. Our Xtream Codes guide lists the typical error messages and what each one usually means.

Adding the M3U link instead

If you only have the M3U link at hand, choose the M3U option in step 3 and paste or type the whole link. It works the same way and gives access to the same content. On older boxes and sticks it may take longer to load, because the app has to read one long list instead of asking for each section separately.

Typing an M3U link with a remote is long, since the link contains your username and password as well as the server address. If you go this route, the same careful method applies: small groups, check as you go, read it back before confirming. If the link is too long to type comfortably, use the Xtream Codes fields instead; they carry the same information in three shorter pieces.

Keep the M3U link as private as a password. Do not post it in a group, send it to friends or save it in a shared note. Anyone holding it can use your one connection. Our M3U playlist guide covers when the link is the better choice and how to keep large lists manageable on older devices.

TiviMate premium: what it is and who sells it

This is where many customers get confused. TiviMate has a basic mode and a premium mode. Premium is sold by the app publisher, through its own purchase process. It is not part of any Northline IPTV pack, and we never collect payment for it.

PointThe plain answer
Who sells TiviMate premiumThe app publisher only.
Northline IPTV sells or includes itNo. We are independent from app publishers.
Premium needed to watch your packNo. Add your login and watch in the basic mode.
What premium addsComfort features, which vary by version. The publisher lists them on the app’s official website.
What it costsCheck the current price on the app’s official website.
Premium adds channelsNo. Your content comes only from your Northline IPTV pack.

What this means for you: premium changes how the app behaves, not what you can watch. A channel that is in your pack plays in the basic mode. A channel that is not in your pack does not appear with premium either. If anyone tells you otherwise, they are confusing the player with the provider.

Why we stay out of premium

Some customers ask why we do not simply include premium in our packs to make things easier. The answer is independence. If we sold app features, our advice about players would no longer be neutral, and you would be relying on us for something only the publisher can control: its features, its updates and its account system. Keeping the two separate means our recommendation is based on your device and your habits alone, and your plan with us never depends on a decision made by an app publisher.

Say no to “unlocked” versions. If someone offers a modified TiviMate, a code that unlocks premium, or an app file sent by message, refuse. Install only from your device’s official app store and buy premium only through the publisher. Unofficial copies can expose your box and your login, and we cannot support them.

Deciding about TiviMate premium without pressure

There is no rush. You lose nothing on our side by waiting, and the basic mode is enough to judge whether TiviMate suits your home. Here is a calm way to decide.

  1. First evening

    Set up in basic mode

Add your login, let the guide load, mark a few favourites. Watch as you normally would.

  2. First week

    Live with it

Use the app every evening. Note anything you miss, and anything that annoys other people at home.

  3. Decision point

Compare your notes with the publisher’s list

Read what premium includes on the app’s official website. Check whether it answers the things you noted.

  4. Your choice

    Buy, wait or switch

Buy premium from the publisher, keep the basic mode, or try another player. Your plan with us is unaffected.

If you decide to buy, do it only through the publisher’s own purchase process. If you decide not to, nothing changes: the basic mode keeps working with your login for the whole duration of your plan. And if you switch players, your Northline IPTV access moves with you, because it was never tied to TiviMate in the first place.

One more point on timing. Your Northline IPTV plan and any premium you buy have separate end dates, set by separate parties. Our plans never renew automatically, so nothing will be charged on our side when your duration ends. The publisher has its own terms for premium; read them on its official website before you buy, so you know exactly what you are committing to.

Content first, layout second

Getting the TiviMate guide right

The grid guide is the main reason people choose TiviMate. When it is wrong or empty, the app loses its point. The good news is that the cause is usually simple and the order of checks never changes.

Time zoneSet on the device
ClockAutomatic date and time
RefreshUpdate the guide
Time shiftLast resort, in the app
Programme guide grid on a television showing channels and time slots
When the device clock and time zone are right, the grid lines up on its own.

Three habits for an accurate grid

Refresh after setup. If some channels show no programme information, update the guide from the playlist settings and give it a few minutes.

Fix the time zone at the source. If every programme looks shifted by the same amount, the device time zone is usually the cause. Canada spans several zones, so check that the box uses yours.

Use the app’s time shift last. Only if the problem remains after the device is correct.

Some channels may have no programme information at all. That depends on the guide data available for that channel, not on your settings, and refreshing will not change it. If a channel you watch often has an empty slot in the grid, tell us its name and category. Our TV guide setup page explains the time zone side in more detail, including what to do if you move between provinces.

When you travel within Canada

If you take a stick to a cottage or a relative’s home in another province, the guide can look shifted by an hour or more. That is the time zone again. Change the device time zone to the local one when you arrive, refresh the guide, and change it back when you return. Do not adjust the app’s time shift for a short trip, or you will have to remember to undo it later. And remember the household rule: the login stays within your household, and only one screen plays at a time.

Organising TiviMate for everyone at home

A large catalogue in a grid guide can feel overwhelming at first, especially for the person in the house who just wants the evening news. Twenty minutes of tidying on the first weekend changes that.

  • Hide what nobody watches. With a large catalogue, hiding unused groups makes the guide faster to scroll and easier to read.
  • Build one shared favourites list. Sit down together and pick the channels the household really uses.
  • Put favourites first. If the app lets you open on favourites, everyone lands on the shortlist when the TV turns on.
  • Keep names recognizable. Leave playlist and group names clear, so anyone can find their way back.
  • Write down what you changed. If something looks odd later, you know which setting to revisit.

The aim is not to remove choice but to put the everyday choices in front. Anyone who wants to explore the full catalogue can still open the hidden groups or browse the movies and series sections. Everyone else gets a guide that looks like the one they are used to.

Setting it up for an older relative

If the box is for a parent or grandparent who is used to a traditional cable remote, prepare it before handing it over. Add the playlist, let the guide load, hide every group they will not use, and build a short favourites list with them, in the order they like. Show them how to return to favourites from anywhere, and how to tell when the box is on standby rather than off. Leave a written note with the support e-mail and WhatsApp number, +33 6 44 65 43 13, so they know who to ask. Most of the questions we get from older viewers come from a guide that was never trimmed down to their channels.

A guide only feels like a cable box when it shows the channels your household actually watches.

Box placement, connection and picture

TiviMate can only show what the box receives. On a Fire TV Stick tucked behind the TV, the Wi-Fi signal is often the real limit. On a box with an Ethernet port, a cable removes most of the guesswork.

Speed per screen we recommend

HD10 Mbps
Full HD15 Mbps
4K25 Mbps

Sticks and boxes are not equal

A Fire TV Stick is small, cheap to run and hides behind the TV, which is why so many homes have one. It also has limited storage and, on most models, relies on Wi-Fi from a spot right behind the television, which is the worst place for a signal. A box is bulkier but often has more room for app data and an Ethernet port. If TiviMate feels slow on a stick with a large pack, the device is often the limit, not the app or the service. Our IPTV devices page compares both families.

If you use Wi-Fi, connect the box to the 5 GHz band when the router is in the same room or the next one. Use 2.4 GHz only when 5 GHz drops at that distance. Keep the router in the open, not in a cabinet. And remember that these figures are for your screen alone: anyone else streaming, gaming or on a video call adds their own needs on top.

For 4K, the television needs a 4K panel and the box should sit in an HDMI port that supports it, usually marked HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 2.1 on the TV. If 4K stutters while HD plays well, your connection may be under 25 Mbps for that screen at that moment. Try the Full HD version of the channel while you check the network. Our 4K quality page covers the rest of a 4K setup.

Two boxes, one pack

Many homes put TiviMate on two boxes, one in the living room and one in a bedroom. That works with one pack, with one rule: only one box plays at a time.

One pack, one connection. You can add the same login to TiviMate on two boxes in the same home, but only one can play at a time. Do not give your login to another household. For more screens at once, contact support through the contact page: they will give you the conditions and the price.

If the bedroom box will not start a channel

Check whether the living room box is still playing, even on a paused channel. Close TiviMate there.

Then: try the bedroom box again
If both boxes are needed at the same time every evening

A single pack will not cover it. Ask support about additional simultaneous screens.

Then: wait for the conditions and price from support
If you set up the second box later

Add the same login exactly as on the first box. Favourites do not copy across, so set them again.

Then: name the playlist after the room

A practical tip for two-box homes: agree on a house rule, such as “the box you turned on last is the one that plays”. Then make sure everyone closes TiviMate when they leave a room, instead of leaving it on a paused channel. It sounds trivial, but it removes most of the evening messages we receive from families with more than one box.

Moving from a cable box to TiviMate

Many people who choose TiviMate are leaving a traditional cable or satellite box behind. The grid will look familiar, but a few things work differently. Knowing them in advance avoids the feeling that something is broken when it is simply new.

What you are used toHow it works with TiviMate and Northline IPTV
A box supplied by the providerYou use your own Android TV box, Google TV device or Fire TV Stick. We do not sell hardware.
Channels arrive through a cableStreams arrive over your internet connection, so speed and Wi-Fi placement matter.
A monthly billOne payment for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, with no automatic renewal and no contract.
Channel numbers fixed by the providerChannels are sorted into groups. Favourites become your personal channel list.
One guide built into the boxThe guide is drawn by the app from guide data, and depends on your device clock being right.
Several TVs on one accountOne simultaneous connection per pack. More screens at once on request through support.

What this means for you: the first week is an adjustment. Spend it building favourites and checking your Wi-Fi, not judging the service on the first evening. Most people who struggle at the start are fighting a weak signal behind the TV or an untrimmed guide, and both are quick to fix. Before you cancel anything with a previous provider, make sure TiviMate and your pack work well on the screens you use most. A 1-month IPTV subscription gives you room to check that calmly.

Which pack suits a guide-first player

All three packs work in TiviMate. The difference is the size of the grid and the depth of the on-demand sections. Bigger packs reward a tidy setup with hidden groups and a good favourites list.

Common TiviMate problems

Most issues fall into a few patterns. Find yours below, try the advice in order, and contact us only if the next step does not help.

If the login fails

Retype the server URL, username and password by hand. Most failures come from one wrong character or a hidden space.

Then: see our cannot-connect guide
If channels open, then stop

Another device may be playing with the same login. Close the app completely on every other screen.

Then: try on one screen only
If 4K stutters while HD plays well

Your connection may be under 25 Mbps for that screen right now. Try the Full HD version.

Then: see our buffering guide
If one channel shows a black screen

Try another channel in the same group and a movie. If only one channel fails, note its name.

Then: see our black screen guide
If the guide is empty or shifted

Check the device time zone and clock, then refresh the guide.

Then: use the app’s time shift as a last step
If the app crashes or freezes

Update the app and the box, restart the box fully, and try again.

Then: contact the publisher if it continues

The full guides are on our help page: IPTV not connecting, IPTV black screen and IPTV buffering. When you write to us, include the box model, the playlist type you used and a photo of any error message.

If you write to us, one complete message works better than several short ones. Tell us the box or stick model, whether you used Xtream Codes or M3U, the exact wording of any error, and whether the same channel plays on another device in the home. With that, we can usually say in one reply whether the issue sits with the login, the connection or the app.

Keeping TiviMate healthy over months

A box that runs every evening for months benefits from a little maintenance. None of it is complicated, and it prevents most of the slow-down messages we receive.

  1. Update the box, then the app. System updates first, because newer app versions may need them.
  2. Restart fully once in a while. Standby is not a restart. Unplug the box for a moment or use the restart option in its settings.
  3. Refresh the playlist and the guide. Do it after any change on our side, such as a renewal.
  4. Keep storage tidy. On a stick, remove apps you no longer use so TiviMate has room for its data.
  5. Keep your welcome e-mail. If you ever need to add the playlist again, everything is in it.

If the app starts to feel slow after many months, clearing its cache from the box’s app settings usually helps. Clearing all of the app’s data is a bigger step: it removes the playlist and your favourites, so only do it with your welcome e-mail at hand and a few minutes to set things up again.

Deep dive: what happens to TiviMate when your plan ends

When your Northline IPTV duration ends, the app stays installed and keeps any premium you bought from the publisher. The playlist, though, no longer loads content, because the login behind it has expired. Nothing renews automatically on our side. When you renew from the plans page, the same playlist usually starts working again after a refresh. If we send you new details, add a new playlist with them, test it, and remove the old one.

FAQ

Is TiviMate premium included with my subscription?

No. Premium is sold only by the app publisher. Check the current price on the app’s official website. Your Northline IPTV order covers the content and our support.

Can I use TiviMate without premium?

Yes. Add your Xtream Codes details and watch in the basic mode. Premium adds comfort features, not content.

Does TiviMate work on my Samsung or LG TV?

Not directly. TiviMate is made for Android TV, Google TV and the Fire TV Stick. On a Samsung or LG television, use IBO Player or Smart IPTV, or connect a TV box.

Does TiviMate work on Apple TV or iPhone?

No. On iPhone and iPad, look for IPTV Smarters Pro or GSE Smart IPTV in the official app store. On Apple TV, look for GSE Smart IPTV.

Can I install TiviMate on two boxes?

Yes, with the same login. Only one box can play at a time, because each pack includes one simultaneous connection.

Why are the guide times wrong?

Usually the device time zone is wrong. Correct it in the device settings, then refresh the guide. Use the app’s time shift only as a last step.

Should I add Xtream Codes or the M3U link?

Xtream Codes. It loads faster and separates live TV, movies and series. Use the M3U link only if you do not have the Xtream details at hand.

Can you activate premium for me?

No. We are independent from the publisher and have no access to its accounts. Only the publisher can activate premium.

Does premium give me more channels?

No. Every channel, series and movie comes from your Northline IPTV pack. Premium only changes how the app behaves.

What happens to TiviMate when my plan ends?

The app stays installed but the playlist shows no content. Renew from the plans page and refresh the playlist. Nothing renews automatically.
